WANT TO LEARN HOW TO SAIL?  Why not join us for a head start on your sailing GAP YEAR/CAREER COURSE during the June/July school holidays. Once you have completed your RYA/SAS Day Skippers and you are looking to go and work overseas, all you have to do is the following:

  1. Upgrade your qualification to a RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore
  2. Complete your STCW 95 – Fire Fighting, 1st Aid at Sea, CSA, PSSR + PST (compulsory)
  3. Add on optional extra modules
  • RYA Power Boat Level II
  • RYA Radar
  • RYA Diesel Engines
  • Atlantic Yachting Super Yacht Training
  • Stewardess Training


Competent Crew 5 Days – this course introduces the complete beginner to cruising and teaches personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship to the level required to be a useful member of the crew of a cruising yacht.

RYA/SAS Day Skipper Theory 5 Days – this course provides a comprehensive introduction to chartwork, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship.

RYA Day Skipper Practical 5 Days – this course is to teach pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling up to the standard required to skipper a small cruising yacht safely by day in tidal waters with which the student is familiar.

We will meet you the day before your course starts (26th June) at 15H00 at the office.  We will have a welcome chat and then settle you onto your yacht!  Your sail training will commence on the 27th June.

Turn off the R27 to Langebaan (at Engen Garage).  Travel down the road until you see the signs on your right hand side for Club Mykonos.  Turn right and travel along the road until you get to the Gateway Centre.  At this 4 way stop go straight.  At the entrance to Club Mykonos take the Visitors Entrance.  You will come to the boom.  Tell them you are going to Atlantic Yachting.  Go over the 1st stop sign.  Turn right at your next turning (putt putt will then be on your left).  Go behind the buildings and you will come to a gravel parking lot.   Park anywhere there.  You will see Atlantic on the stack packs.  Our office is in Agora Square on your left hand side next to the Chapel.
