Golden Globe Race – Philippe Péché heading for Cape Town

The 50th Anniversary edition of the first ever Golden Globe Race (which was back in 1968/69) is currently taking place and one sailor is on his way to RCYC Cape Town. 18 Sailors on a 30 000 mile non-stop solo race, this weekend we will have one of them visiting us for Royal Cape hospitality and assistance. Philippe Péché, French skipper is heading for Cape Town to repair his self-steering.

We are in contact with Steven Bentley, CT race contact, for his arrival, at the moment, probably on Sunday 26th August 2018
He wants to dash back into the race, as he is currently laying in second place.
