Please find attached the Notice of Race and the “Application for Invitation Package” for the Hardy Cup 2016. Detailed
below is information about the Hardy Cup, the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, Notice of Race, Application for Invitation,
Selection Process and Accommodation.
The Hardy Cup 2016, hosted by the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, is expected to attract once again a high calibre of
competition. This prestigious event is an ISAF Grade 3 event for sailors under the age of 25 years and is contested via a
match-racing format with on water umpiring. The Hardy Cup will be conducted on the beautiful Sydney Harbour from
the 7th ??? 11th February 2016 in the Elliott 7 class of yachts; a 4 to 5 person keel boat with spinnaker.
The Hardy Cup has attracted, in the past, international entries from Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, New
Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, Japan, United States of America, and Australian entries from Western Australia,
Queensland and New South Wales.
Numerous high profile world match racing yachtsmen and women such as Adam Minoprio, Torvar Mirsky, Michael
Dunstan, Nicky Souter and Katie Spithill have competed in the Hardy Cup on their way towards the professional world
match racing circuit.
The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is one of Australia’s premier yacht clubs. The club has a proud history of involvement
in sailing including America’s Cups and more recently the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and various World, National and
State Championships. Located within walking distance of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Squadron boasts spectacular
views of Sydney Harbour. The Opera House, CBD and many tourist attractions are also within minutes of the Club.
The Hardy Cup “Application for Invitation Package” has been attached and requests all necessary details about your
Team, Club, Crew/Coach/Support personnel, Helmsman Declaration and Resume. Please complete these forms as
