Welcome to the Royal Cape Yacht Club, set within the Cape Town Port. With views of Table Mountain on the one side and yachts gently swaying in the Marina on the other side, you will search far for a more beautiful and unique setting. A wide range of membership options are available, which cater amongst others for avid sailors, for those interested in the social aspects and for those needing a meeting hub for their corporate activities. And the best news? You do not need to own a boat to become a member.

Membership categories

Many different categories of memberships are available to suit the youth, students, individuals, families and larger corporations. It is also very affordable for a spouse or partner to join.

Free Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is particularly useful during load-shedding – one of the great benefits of being in an operational Port, is that we do not have load-shedding at RCYC. It is a great office space for you to work from and we have different areas/private rooms ideal for holding meetings.

Club access

Members enjoy full use of all Club facilities in and around our property, which are open seven days a week. Every member receives their own personal membership card and they can sign their guests in six times a year.

Social events and racing days

Members enjoy free access to regular club social events and weekly lucky draws, as well as cruising and racing events. You do not need to own a boat in order to sail, as there are always spaces available on other boats. The Club hosts a variety of social events, which you can access through our weekly newsletter, updated website and social media platforms. Members also receive preferential bookings and rates.

Free parking is available exclusively for members.

24 Hour security of the premises and car park.

Food and beverage discounts

A 20% discount applies to all food and beverage items from the restaurant menu and wine list, as indicated on the menu.

A range of world-class venues, resplendent with classic nautical charm, set in a stunning corner of the Cape Town harbour. From intimate birthday and private functions, to large weddings and corporate events, our venues are fully equipped to cater to your every need, with top-notch food and beverage services. Allow us to manage all of your event requirements.  Members qualify for discounted venue hire for their private and corporate events.

Marina Facilities

Royal Cape Yacht Club offers some of the best marina facilities in Southern Africa. An 18 ton crane and a 40 ton slipway allow easy access to the hard area, which is serviced by a number of top-class workshops, a chandlery and a laundry. Fully serviced walk-on moorings offer 24 hour security and access control. All within easy reach of the Club’s amenities and the popular V&A Waterfront.

Sailing Academy

The Royal Cape Sailing Academy is a registered NPC working within the Club. We work with youth between the ages of 16 and 23 with a special focus on opening up our Club, our facilities, the sport of yachting and the Ocean to those who would not normally have the opportunity. Members can be proud of this active service to our communities and we welcome involvement of the members and their families.

Once you have been an Ordinary member of the Club for 6 months, you will be able to receive a 10% discount when introducing and securing any new member to the Club.
