We are proud to announce that the famous yachting photographer, Rick Tomlinson has agreed to give a talk and slide show to help raise money for the General Botha Old Boys Bursary Fund. See www.GBBursaryFund.co.za
Rick will be in Cape Town for the Volvo Race and on previous races he has been the official Volvo Race photographer. For the current race he is the photographer for the all female entry, Team SCA. He has also sailed as crew in many of the round the world races and has some amazing photos and stories.

About Rick Tomlinson

Rick Tomlinson is very well known in sailing circles worldwide and is one of the foremost photographers in yachting. His photographic career started in 1985 when taking photos aboard the maxi yacht “Drum” in the Whitbread Race and since then he has done many more regattas and Around the World Races both as crew and photographer. He has sailed in four Whitbread/Volvo races as well as being involved with the GBR Americas Cup Challenge.
Rick also has a collection of amazing shots from his expedition yachting which stretches from Antarctica to Alaska and includes Chile, Africa and the Caribbean.
At the 2012 Volvo Round the World Legends event in Alicante he was awarded the prestigious “Volvo/Inmarsat Pioneer of Media award” in recognition of his work in the Whitbread races and for inspiring the full time role of media crew members on Volvo Ocean Race yachts. He also has awards from the RNLI in UK and Mirbaud best photo of the year.
