Harken Round Robben Island Pursuit Race
The Round Robben Island Pursuit Race is one of Cape Town’s most iconic sailing traditions. For decades, sailors have tested themselves against the winds and currents of Table Bay, with Robben Island as the historic turning mark and Table Mountain as the backdrop.
This is a pursuit race, which means boats start at staggered times based on their ratings. Slower boats go first, faster boats chase, and all work toward the same finish line. It is a format that brings the fleet together and makes for a thrilling, unpredictable finale. First start is at 12h00.
