Opening Cruise 2024 Wild West Saloon

October 5, 2024

Hee-hah! Saddle up your pony and head to RCYC for our annual Opening Cruise in the Regatta Centre!

Save the date—Saturday, 5th October—for the party of a lifetime.

Celebrating the opening of the RCYC 2024/25 sailing season, the cowboys, cowgirls, and saloon girls will be celebrating in the Wild West Saloon. Expect line dancing, singing along to old honky-tonk piano tunes, and a rootin’-tootin’ good time. Save the date, partner!

12h00 | Official proceedings on the deck

14h00 | Sail Past through the V&A Waterfront, boats adorned in bunting, burgees & nautical flags

16h00 | Down to The Wild West Saloon for fun, line dancing, and final judging of the best dressed crews

17h00 | The Best Dressed Crew showdown!

FREE CLUB MEMBERSHIP TO THE BEST DRESSED CREW

This year we will not have a “best dressed boat” and rather encourage boats to adorned their bunting, burgees & nautical flags onboard.

We’re making your Opening Cruise experience smoother than ever by going cashless at the outside food area. That’s right, folks—leave your bills and coins at home because we’ll be accepting credit cards and contactless tapping for all your needs. 💳💼

This is to streamline transactions and money handling for attendees at the event, but do not fret as the main bar will still be accepting cash as usual ⛵️
