Women’s Cruise

Ullman Sails Woman’s Cruise – 1st August 2026
Join us at the Royal Cape Yacht Club as we enjoy an incredible talk with complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks. Then enjoy a leisurely cruise around Table Bay, on one of our members yachts with an experienced Skipper and crew, in celebration of Woman’s Month. On your return to the Club, you most are welcome to enjoy the facilities at your own leisure.
What to bring & wear: comfortable clothing (warm – it is definitely cooler on the water than land), flat soled shoes (sneakers are preferable), please ensure you have a windbreaker, a hat, and sunscreen. Something to drink (non-alcoholic)
Registration opens on the 1st of July 2026.
Please note that children under the age of 15 will not be allowed & this invitation is extended to women only

What to Expect
Start the day with tea and coffee on arrival before hearing the inspiring story of the Alexforbes Angel Wings Team, winners of the 2025 Cape2Rio Race. Their remarkable journey highlights perseverance, teamwork, and the powerful role women continue to play in the sport of sailing.
Following the presentation, you will be introduced to your skipper and crew for the day before embarking on a relaxing cruise around Table Bay. After returning to the club, guests are welcome to enjoy the Royal Cape Yacht Club’s facilities at their leisure.
Meet the Angels
Philasande Gwala
Philasande discovered sailing while studying Maritime Studies at CPUT and has built an impressive racing résumé in just four years.
Yobanathi Klaas
A Tourism student from Khayelitsha, Yobanathi was introduced to sailing through a weekend tutoring academy. As a reserve crew member, her commitment, resilience, and determination have been invaluable to the team’s success.
Sesona Ntsaluba
Introduced to sailing through a member of the Royal Cape Yacht Club community, Sesona quickly developed a passion for life on the water and competitive sailing.
Yonela Temela
Yonela discovered sailing during a school excursion to RCYC. One decision to raise her hand and join the Academy changed the course of her life and set her on an extraordinary sailing journey.

We encourage you to invite your female friends, family members, and colleagues who would enjoy experiencing the excitement and joy of sailing. To help us prepare and ensure smooth arrangements, we kindly ask that all participants complete the sign‑up process, even if you belong to a boat.
Please note: This event is exclusively for women. Unfortunately, no children under the age of 16 may attend.
