8TH CAPE2RIO ENTRY – CASSIOPIA, A SADLER 32

The Royal Cape Yacht Club and Iate Club do Rio de Janeiro are delighted to have received the entry of Cassiopia for the 2023 Cape to Rio Race.  Cassiopia, a Sadler 32, is a local entry and will be skippered by Geoff Sivertsen.  Launched in the 80’s in Gothenburg, Sweden, she is currently based at The Water Club in Granger Bay, Cape Town.

Cassiopia is owned and sailed by Geoff, Emily, Dave, Eleni and Mike, who have spent the past three years upgrading her.  According to Geoff “She is firm, feisty and ready to put her team to the test!”  With mountaineering, IT, engineering, airplane piloting, acting as well as  cocktail making skills, her crew is certainly varied and they can’t wait for the start of this transatlantic adventure.

They hope to grow as sailors, while experiencing life on the open ocean with some of their closest friends. Team Cassie is proudly South African and will fly their country’s flag high as they take on this challenge!
