We are excited to announce the return of the Italian Ambassador’s Race on 21 November.
With the assistance of the Italian Ambassador and the Italian community, the aim of the regatta is to raise funds for the Royal Cape Yacht Club Sailing Academy. The funds raised will be used to promote community projects in favour of disadvantaged youth and to assist with the Academy’s Cape2Rio 2023 campaign.
A gala party will be held at the Italian Ambassador’s Residence in Bishopscourt on Saturday 20 November 2021 for all boat owners who have confirmed their entry.
On Sunday 21 November 2021, the race is scheduled to start at 12h00, with prize giving and complimentary Italian pasta meals for all competitors, guests and supporters at 17h30. The Ambassador’s guests will be contributing to this charity fund raising event and we request your assistance in reserving at least one berth, for a guest of the Ambassador or a Sponsor to sail with you.
- Charity ticket to participate on a member’s sailing yacht is R800
- Cost of boat entry is R500
- Cost of the charity ticket to be a spectator watching the race on a private charter yacht is R1000
There are only a number of tickets available from sailing@rcyc.co.za. We look forward to hosting the 4th Italian event at the Club together with the Italian Ambassador.
