LOCKDOWN UPDATE | DEC 29

Dear Members,

I trust you are all having a peaceful Festive Season with your families, as far as distance allows us to.

Following the announcements by Government last night we thought it prudent to update you on RCYC plans over the coming weeks.

The main bar will be closed until the rules allow us to open again. No alcohol will be served at any time.

The RCYC Restaurant times will change slightly to the following:
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 08h00 to 18h00.
Wednesday to Saturday 08h00 to 19h00.
Last orders from the menu will be at 19h00 to allow the preparation, cooking, serving and clearing away to be completed by 20h00. The Restaurant will close at 20h00 to allow all our staff to be home before the curfew of 21h00.

On New Year’s Eve the restaurant will close at 18h00. Braais will be provided for those members who wish to stay at the Club and enjoy the facility and their boats. The Club will be closed on New Year’s Day. The wind predictions are strong SE for New Year’s Day so please check your boats, lines, fenders and furling head sails are very secure.

The Ports remain open for small craft so you can still go sailing. Marine Notice 31 remains in place and has not been updated or superseded.

Please remember the COVID protocols around the Club. Members do feel like our Club is a second home and hence can be a little too relaxed. PLEASE wear your mask while moving around the Club and restaurant.  Please keep your 1.5 metre distance while socialising and please make use of the hand sanitizers placed around the Clubhouse.

Wishing you all a positive mind set and wellbeing going into the misty looking 2021.

Happy New Year and keep safe.
