ORC South Africa have just sent out renewal notices for the new season. Your current ORC Certificate, expires on 30 June. ORC South Africa is aligning it’s certificate year with the global organisations dates of 1 January – 31 December. This also aligns with the South African Sailing Awards calendar. The renewal period for the 2021 VPP ORC Certificates will therefore run 1 July – 31 December, and will be offered on a 50% discounted rate for the 6 month period. Accordingly, 2021 certificates will be valid from 1 July – 31 December 2021 only. ORC South Africa will align with the annual calendar certification of the global organisation from 1 January 2022, where there will be renewal on the 2022 VPP.
Renewing your certificate for the upcoming certificate year is now possible by following this simple process:
- The discounted fee for certificates for the period 1 July – 31 December 2021 is R450.
- Pay your renewal fee to the following account, using your Sail Number and Boat Name as reference.

- I declare that no changes have been made to any of the measurements indicated on my previous certificate, and that, to the best of my knowledge, these measurements are correct.

Double Handed certificates will continue to be issued without a certification cost during this period. Note, it is also now possible to obtain a full “Non Spinnaker” rating certificate. The ORC family also extends to the ORCmh Multihull certification, which is in beta phase, and of course the ORCsy Superyacht certification.
